BIO

Meet the most confident sad guy in every room. Dan Gallun plays willful, idealistic men who carry heavy burdens, secrets, or mistakes. His personal charm and intelligence infuse every role he plays: hero, villain, or anywhere in between.

As an artist, Dan brings a creative optimism and buoyancy to every project, rehearsal process, and challenge he faces. His work is deeply rooted not only comprehensive training as an actor, but in his dynamic personality, imaginative approach, and passion for authentic storytelling.

While he’s well able to compete for the Midwestern roles connected to his youth and family life in Wisconsin, Dan’s intelligence and natural strength lend themselves easily to roles running the spectrum of darkness and personal hardship. His natural gravitas and ability to quickly synthesize challenging material make him an ideal fit for those procedural and dramatic roles tackling serious white collar careers and those mysterious men whose behavior you just can’t predict. He is often cast in leading man with a twist roles, as complicated characters with hidden agenda and a magnetism for trouble.

Currently living and working in Los Angeles, Dan received his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from Columbia College Chicago and subsequently studied audition technique at ActOne studios while living Chicago. He also studied improv at Upright Citizen’s Brigade and On Camera Audition Technique at the Anthony Meindl Actor Workshop where he is currently in ongoing scene study class.

Dan's athleticism is always an asset to his acting career. He’s a certified spin instructor with Blazing Saddles studios and is also certified and recommended in stage  combat for rapier & dagger, unarmed and broadsword per the Society of American Fight Directors.

His recent successes include a number of commercials running regionally and nationally (conflict lists available upon request), leading roles in theatrical productions with The Young Actor’s Ensemble, producing and starring in sketch comedy shorts with Fat Potato Films, and recurring performances with local unrehearsed Shakespeare company Trashcan Shakespeare. He recently appeared as a charmingly cocky gynecologist in a new short awaiting release.

Currently, Dan is represented by ABA Talent commercially, and is managed by Excelsior Talent Management. He is actively seeking theatrical representation.
